A 14-year-old boy from Boston who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest is facing charges after he was arrested with a gun in his possession, the Boston Police Department reported.
Officers spotted the teenager while they were looking for a missing person in the area of 6 Alwin St. in Hyde Park around 2:17 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, police said.
Officers watched the 14-year-old get into a car with another individual and then leave the area. Police pulled the vehicle over and asked the teenager step outside.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a firearm from inside, police said. The firearm was later determined to be a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 Rifle with 15 rounds in the magazine.

While the other people inside the car were let go, the 14-year-old was placed under arrest. He was charged with the following:
- Delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of a firearm
- Delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of ammunition
- Delinquent to wit; unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device
The 14-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court, police said. No other information was released.
