13 ice cream products recalled due to potential listeria contamination, FDA says

Bad news for anyone with Dolcezza ice cream in the freezer: the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalled 13 of the brand’s products due to listeria contamination.

Based out of Maryland, Totally Cool, Inc. of Owings Mills is recalling several of its ice cream products due to potential contamination, according to the FDA in June. FDA testing found that that the contamination affects 13 products under the Dolcezza brand name.

These products were distributed across the country and sold in retail stores. They are also sold online.

Symptoms of listeria can include fever, muscle aches and gastrointestinal problems, according to the FDA. Those who eat these vegetables and are experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention.

The affected Dolcezza items being recalled include:

  • 16 fl oz Mascarpone & Berries Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Roasted Strawberry Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Peanut Butter Mash and Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Dulce de Leche & Cookies Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Stracciatella Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Peanut Stracciatella Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Swiss Chocolate Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Coffee & Cookies Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Hot Cocoa Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Sugar Cookie Dough Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Pints
  • 16 fl oz Dark Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Pints
