Don’t feel like doing Valentine’s Day dinner this year?

Couples looking for an excuse to leave the dinner table can sign up for one of many loved-centric activities in Boston from candle- or sushi-making classes to paint nights and concerts.

So to help lovebirds fly away from the ordinary celebration, here are 12 Valentine’s Day date ideas in the Boston area that are more than just grabbing dinner and drinks.

Amore Concert in the North End

When: Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Doors at 6:30 p.m.

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center’s annual Amore Concert will return on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Lucia Ristorante in the North End. The concert’s theme, “Love Songs Through the Ages,” will feature romantic renditions from the Baroque era to today. The concert will be paired with a three-course, prix fixe dinner.
