Even in the off-season, millionaires can be found (or made) on Nantucket — a $1 million lottery prize was claimed on Monday after someone bought the winning ticket at a restaurant on the island.
The $1 million prize was from the lottery’s “$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks” scratch ticket game, which was released on Jan. 9. All three $4 million grand prizes remain to be claimed, in addition to six $1 million prizes remaining as of March 12.
The $1 million ticket was sold at a restaurant on Nantucket called Old South Diner, which is listed as an American and Chinese cuisine eatery on its Facebook page.
Additionally, another $1 million lottery prize was sold in East Boston and claimed on Monday. It was from the “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” scratch ticket game, and had been sold at a shop called East Coast Variety.
Overall, there were at least 778 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Monday, including 5 in Springfield, 34 in Worcester and 77 in Boston.
The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
So far, the two largest lottery prizes won in Massachusetts in 2024 were two $4 million prizes. One was claimed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, and the other was claimed on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
