SPRINGFIELD — Ysabel Garcia is gaining national recognition for transforming her own mental health struggles into a mission to reform suicide care through a lens of racial justice and cultural humility.
Drawing from her lived experience, Garcia founded Estoy Aquí in 2020 to fill what she calls a critical gap in care. Today, she travels the country as a mental health specialist, speaker, workshop facilitator, and writer, helping professionals build connections between suicide prevention, racial equity, and cultural understanding.
