A day of Pride at the Springfield Museums

SPRINGFIELD — Visitors to the Springfield Museums on Saturday created flags, assembled paper quit squares, made origami and more. And they did it with pride.

They were participants in Family Pride Day, and event designed to celebrate diversity, equality and family, featuring a rainbow of activities especially for the younger set.

The Springfield Museums hosts the annual event to help the children learn about the importance of Pride Month.

Among the highlights of the event were Face Painting with Professor Knows A Lot, Carrie Ferguson & the Grumpytime Club Band and the LOUD & PROUD Planetarium Show, featuring a sampling of popular music from artists like Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga and Hayley Kiyoko, accompanied by kaleidoscope light show effects.

Family Pride Day was sponsored by NBT Bank.
